Smithers Rapra has provided a world leading portfolio of Rubber, Plastic and other Polymer Information products and services for 85 years. To improve the delivery and range of products a new business was formed in July 2008 called iSmithers.

iSmithers, working alongside Smithers Rapra and still part of the Smithers group, has expanded its service offering to cover other business areas and industries harnessing the expertise of the iSmithers management team and the knowledge from other companies within the group.

iSmithers is a major publisher of technical and market information covering many industries including all aspects of rubbers, plastics and polymer-based composite materials. With a worldwide readership in industry and academia, iSmithers publications encompass polymer science, practical processing technology and properties and applications of polymeric techniques. The Polymer Library

Now part of the iSmithers group, the Polymer Library remains the largest dedicated resource of polymer information in the world, with around 1,000,000 abstracts. The Polymer Library provides valuable information to the rubber, plastics, adhesives and composite industries and those utilising polymer products. The intelligent search facility helps you to find the information you need quickly and effectively.

Short Courses

iSmithers provides short, professional development courses structured to support time-pressured working people - giving impartial, pragmatic advice on polymer materials properties and characteristics in processing or application. These courses have developed out of the knowledge and experience of Smithers Rapra technologists. Course provision has now expanded to include topics such as legislative and environmental issues which impact on polymers. Courses and seminars are held in the UK, Europe and North America.
